Congrats Brooke Chaffee first featured film

Headshot Smile 3 300x199 Congrats Brooke Chaffee first featured film
Brooke Chaffee booked a role in Gerard Depardieu’s latest film currently titled “THE JUNE PROJECT” direct by Abel Ferrara.

“I love when people ask me how I got into acting, its one of my favorite stories to tell because it involves one of my best friends and MCS. Two things I do not know how I ever lived without! The story goes like this, I started at MCS almost 3 years ago because my girlfriend, Stephanie Schreiber, recommended it to me. I was frustrated with dance and needed an artistic outlet.  Then after a year and a half of of taking this class twice a week for countless hours and being perfectly content Matthew dared to ask the question, are you auditioning? It never occurred to me to actually become an actress this ignited a fire in my belly and my heart that excited and scared me beyond belief, so naturally I knew I had to do it!

I just booked my first film and it is all because of the incredible training I received and the amazing family at the Matthew Corozine Studio and for that I am forever grateful! “–Brooke Chaffee
We are so proud of Brooke from Tuesday/Thursday night class!

shaina 215x300 Congrats MCS Shaina Vencel“I came to MCS a mere two months ago and I’ve already seen enormous changes in my acting and my career (and my life!) I am amazed at what comes out of myself and others in every single class. It often isn’t easy – I often leave tear-stained and completely emotionally exhausted…but at the same time, I LOVE it. MCS has helped me to discover the life inside me that I didn’t know was there, and has taught me how to USE this in my acting. I’ve begun to use what I’ve learned in class at auditions, have felt ENORMOUSLY more connected to my work, and now I’m seeing results! Joining MCS is truly one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself, and already my life is changing. I couldn’t be more happy, grateful, and in love with this art! Thank you Matthew!”–Shaina Vencel

Spence recently moved out to L.A. to continue press for the film, but studied in the Tuesday/Thursday night class up until moving day!  Of his time studying with Matt, he says,

“I love Matt’s class. I’m always excited for class because he makes it fun, but at the same time, its serious and focused. Matthew has tremendous love for all his students and is extremely passionate about helping you get out of your head and becoming totally invested on the other person. ‘Acting is living and BEHAVING TRUTHFULLY and fully, under imaginary circumstances.’ This quote is what I have learned by taking Matt’s class. Sounds easy… and it is, once you can let go. By taking Matt’s class I have figured out how to let go of everything that has held me back from expressing my truth to imaginary circumstances. I truly have a clear understanding of my capabilities as an artist by falling in love with the repetition exercise.  It allows you to act freely and and gives you permission to actually be yourself, with no sensors or rules. The world is yours and everything in it.  Get out there, get on your grind, and get it.”

We can’t WAIT to see you on the big screen, Spencer!  Congrats on JAMESY BOY!

Congrats to MCS’ Ephrat Asherie

8297744 Congrats to MCS Ephrat AsherieEphrat Asherie Dance (EAD) presents A SINGLE RIDE - a multimedia dance show that explores the complex relationships between New Yorkers and the subway. “Riding the train can evoke some of our most primitive emotions, anger and frustration, or it can stir in us what makes us most human, our compassion and empathy.” Choreographer and current MCS student Ephrat “Bounce” Asherie (NMQP, “brothers”) reflects on these emotions by fusing the underground styles of breaking, house and vogue with a contemporary aesthetic. She asks the fundamental questions: Where are we going? Where do we come from? And, where is that train? Original music composed by Grammy Award winner Marty Beller, lighting by Tim Cryan, projection design by David Bengali, and set design by Luke Clark Tyler.

Fellow MCS-er MiRi Park is a collaborator on the project – We are so proud of you both!  Can’t wait to catch the show!

Running Sept. 21,22,23 & 27, 28, 29 at Dixon Place.  For info, check out A SINGLE RIDE.
