“I love when people ask me how I got into acting, its one of my favorite stories to tell because it involves one of my best friends and MCS. Two things I do not know how I ever lived without! The story goes like this, I started at MCS almost 3 years ago because my girlfriend, Stephanie Schreiber, recommended it to me. I was frustrated with dance and needed an artistic outlet. Then after a year and a half of of taking this class twice a week for countless hours and being perfectly content Matthew dared to ask the question, are you auditioning? It never occurred to me to actually become an actress this ignited a fire in my belly and my heart that excited and scared me beyond belief, so naturally I knew I had to do it!
Anthony Wayne and Colin Cunliffe we are proud of you. Anthony has been part of MCS since he was in Broadways’ ANYTHING GOES and PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT. Colin started MCS right before out-of-town workshop of PIPPIN. Anthony and Colin are now performing in Broadway’s PIPPIN.

“I came to MCS a mere two months ago and I’ve already seen enormous changes in my acting and my career (and my life!) I am amazed at what comes out of myself and others in every single class. It often isn’t easy – I often leave tear-stained and completely emotionally exhausted…but at the same time, I LOVE it. MCS has helped me to discover the life inside me that I didn’t know was there, and has taught me how to USE this in my acting. I’ve begun to use what I’ve learned in class at auditions, have felt ENORMOUSLY more connected to my work, and now I’m seeing results! Joining MCS is truly one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself, and already my life is changing. I couldn’t be more happy, grateful, and in love with this art! Thank you Matthew!”–Shaina Vencel

About MCS, Charlie says, “Matthew Corozine’s class is truly life changing. He’s taught me to start opening up not only in my acting, but more importantly …in life. His rules are simple; to listen and work off the other person. Yet I struggle with it every day. I know that because of him, I’ve continued to grow as an artist and as a person. All because he truly cares .”
We can’t wait to see you featured in this new show, Charlie. So proud of the work you do and the person that you are!

“I love Matt’s class. I’m always excited for class because he makes it fun, but at the same time, its serious and focused. Matthew has tremendous love for all his students and is extremely passionate about helping you get out of your head and becoming totally invested on the other person. ‘Acting is living and BEHAVING TRUTHFULLY and fully, under imaginary circumstances.’ This quote is what I have learned by taking Matt’s class. Sounds easy… and it is, once you can let go. By taking Matt’s class I have figured out how to let go of everything that has held me back from expressing my truth to imaginary circumstances. I truly have a clear understanding of my capabilities as an artist by falling in love with the repetition exercise. It allows you to act freely and and gives you permission to actually be yourself, with no sensors or rules. The world is yours and everything in it. Get out there, get on your grind, and get it.”
We can’t WAIT to see you on the big screen, Spencer! Congrats on JAMESY BOY!

Dan’s life is dominated by the charismatic personality of his father, a highly-functioning, highly-entertaining alcoholic. He must find a way to confront both his dead father and his own demons; he does both by means of an old fashioned cowboy duel.”

MCS is beyond proud to announce that our very own Tom Berklund has been cast in the much-anticipated national tour of Larry Kramer’s THE NORMAL HEART, opening at Arena Stage in June. George C. Wolfe directs.
Tom will be playing Craig Donner/Grady in a cast that includes members of the 2011 Tony Award-winning production.
Of MCS, Tom says, “My work with Matt over the past few years has given me the skills and confidence to truly consider myself an actor with something unique and personal to offer. The curriculum at MCS and Matt’s intuitive skills as a teacher have guided me toward more spontaneous, uninhibited and honest work. This transformation has led to an exciting new appetite for the world of acting. This is definitely a class I’d recommend to anybody who aspires to deliver honest and powerful work in their career as an actor.”
We support you in all of your endeavors, Tom, and are so pleased to list you among our students currently working on inspirational projects so vital to our theatre community!
