“I’ve been studying acting with Matt for a year now and i only trust him with my craft and my career. it is rare to meet such intuitive, caring teachers who are willing to push you and lift you to your full emotional potential! since working with him, I fell in love with my first passion all over again: dance and was able to build a bridge between it and my new career as a young actor in NYC.
I thought I had peaked artistically as a dancer but after working with my coach, I see my career as a dancer, an actor and a performer in a whole new way.”

“When I first met Matthew Corozine, my heart started to pound like it does when one falls in love, I instantly knew studying Meisner with Matt was the right thing to add to my life! Boy, was I right!
I just finished my first film where I had to play a heroine addict. This is a world I was not familiar with. I am convinced that had I not been learning in class these past few months, I would not have had as in depth of a performance. It was the hardest work I had ever done and… I surprised myself. I had no idea I could do what I did! Having an incredibly talented co-star , David Gazzo (who also studies with Matthew), made filming extra special. What more can an actor ask for than a partner who gives you so much to work with take after take? I got lucky.
Matthew is a very smart and sharp coach who challenges me in ways I could never imagine. It’s not only repetition and scene work but also imaginary circumstances and audition technique and improv and workshops and an artist roundtable where you can bounce your ideas off of your peers and showcases where you can share your work with the public be it a play, a reading, a poem, a song, etc. I promise you there is nothing like the sense of community at MCS. With a coach that doesn’t only care about your acting but also about the you in your waking life, you will feel ready to audition, book and soar or create a new work all your own with a space to share it! I am constantly supported artistically and humanly. Doing this work with this coach and these people, is one of the best choices I have ever made for myself. Every time I am at MCS, I learn from watching and working with everyone here and they all have shaped the way I act today. There are countless opportunities at MCS. You never know who is going to ask you to be part of a project. Since joining MCS I have been a part of Spencer Oaks Dawson’s “It Gets Better” video shoot raising awareness and sharing love for LGBT youth, a short film, a reading of original work by an amazing writer, Nina Burns dedicated to World Aids Day and a music video. I also have more projects in the works.
Everyday with Matthew is a treasure. I constantly learn that I posses new capabilities and now I feel I can do it all!
I want to say to Matthew and the MCS family, thank you for giving me the creative home I had been longing to find. I am joyful.”

“MCS has, quite simply, transformed me as an actor and person. Matt has this incredible ability to see the truth in each and every one of his students and help them live in that truth both on and off the stage. I am so grateful to be a part of MCS and for the time I have spent working with Matt. For me, MCS has become my home away from home.”

“Being a part of MCS has altered and affected me both as an actor and how I choose to live my life. Matt teaches how to get back in touch with your instincts and imagination and live them fully. He gives you clear tools and a way to really live in the moment, both on stage and in your life, if you choose to use it there. Through really listening to your partner, and inevitably yourself, he guides you on how to build confident in staying right where you are, truthfully, without running or ignoring or denying, but living through the truth of what is going on in you, and how to own up to who you are, mess and all. He has taught me how, once I am able to recognize what I have been missing by not listening, how to start listening to myself and finding where instincts truly live within me, as well as my acting partners. He has taught me how to replace all the harmful habits I’ve developed along the way as an artist with my truths, and then how to live those truths out loud, fully under imaginary circumstances. So I am now able to know how to access specific sets of instincts, which have always been in me, and a specific, clear ways to stay grounded in the moment, thought the very difficult task of truly listening, for whatever character I am asked to play. The power of his passion for the arts, and therefore for humanity, comes through within the first 5 minutes of entering his class and stays with you on your train ride home, and years after that. The inspiration that he brings out of me is the exact inspiration that I use to drive my acting, my career and my life. Truly, having been with Matthew Corozine has had the largest impact on my life to date. Being a student of Matt’s is a true gift.”

“I love MCS! It’s so much more than “where I go for acting class.” Matthew Corozine is a brilliant, caring, passionate teacher who has taught me how to allow and appreciate who I truly am, as an actor and as a person. At MCS, I feel encouraged, supported, and inspired to create projects for myself, my friends and family, and the community. Get into it!”

“Elizabeth Kensek will be playing Grace Farrell in “Annie” at the Fireside Dinner Theatre in Wisconsin from Feb 13th-May 1st.
I heard about Matt from my friend Tessa and I originally intended to study with him for a few months- I am now going on my 6th month at the studio. This class has become essential to my life as an actor. I always say that I “drank the Kool-Aid” when I talk about Matthew Corozine Studios because I can’t say enough wonderful things about Matt as a teacher and the studio as a whole. Matt is intensely invested and present with his students during every moment of every class. I am constantly impressed by his leading example as he challenges his students to really experience class, our art and our lives fully and truthfully. The studio is full of wonderfully diverse and talented artists who are invested in their craft and deliver incredible inspiring work. Thanks to Matt I am becoming a better actor and a better person.”

“I feel like I could write a whole book about my time training with Matt. In the interest of duration and space, I will cut to the chase. Matt meets you exactly where you are and takes you individually to the next level. He takes your personal experiences, and helps you craft and weave them into your work. He uncovers raw emotional truth and coaches you to express fully, truthfully and fearlessly. His Personal Monologue exercises are excellent opportunities for expressing your own words- a wonderful segue into creating rich, connected scenework. MCS is one of the most supportive, challenging, and inspiring groups of artists in town.”

Matthew approaches his students with unstoppable passion and a deep commitment to something greater than all of us. His heightened emotional intelligence, coupled with his supercharged Meisner techniques, help each and every one of his students to expand their self-awareness and develop more intimate connections with others. The results are inspiring and empower all of us to discover and pursue our true calling in this life. I will forever be grateful for Matthew’s paternal love and guidance to new corridors.”

“Matthew Corozine has shown me what true acting is. He has a passionate and intense approach to each student. And has taught me continually that all I need is within my own heart to be true and full when performing. He has built in me a solid foundation with has given me a confidence that will continue throughout my acting career. In class I feel he is more a personal acting coach to the individual, rather than a teacher to a group of students. He teaches each person individually from first time students to Broadway actors, that the talent needed comes from ones own heart and soul. He is a master at unblocking those things that keep your passion closed.
I had taken acting classes before and was done with them because I was never challenged and held up to a professional standard, then I took Matthew’s class. The intensity and passion he has transfers over to each student and their true talent is unleashed. He has trained that emotional muscle and taught me that all I need is within my own heart. And the community of artists, musicians, poets, and actors makes it possible for each student to be seen and heard inside and outside the studio. He will always be my coach.”
- David Gazzo
“MCS has been an important part of my training as a director. When I came to MCS, I was uncertain about how to work with actors. Through the process of training with Matthew, I gained so much insight into the actor’s craft and what goes into making a stellar performance. As a director, it was also great to see how Matthew works with actors to get the best work out of them.
I now feel completely at home working with actors on set and look forward to every moment of it. MCS is a wonderful experience. I recommend it to everyone I know who is studying acting.”
- Bec Stupak, owner and director of Honey Gun Labs
“Not once in my career as an actor have I come across someone, be it a director, teacher, or mentor, that can match the same passion that Matthew has for his art, his craft, and his students. MCS is a place that I can truly call ‘home’ in more ways than one and challenges me to not only discover who I am as an artist – but as a human being. I have an undying dedication to this place and to Matthew Corozine’s amazing work.”
- Justin Gentry
“Prior to Matt’s class, I struggled with being what I thought people wanted me to be. Matthew taught me that being who I was truthfully in my work would better serve me. He was 100% right. All I have to do is just show up and the rest is magic.”
- J. Cameron Barnett
“I was acting and auditioning, but I wasn’t acting fully and truthfully from my instincts. I didn’t feel like I was acting to my potential. Then I started taking classes with Matthew Corozine. As a result, I recognize what was blocking me from behaving and living truthfully under the imaginary circumstances. And now I’m able to recognize and work through my sticking points. I feel this has given me a new found Love and Passion for Acting. Thank You Matt!”
- Jason Fernandez
“Working with Matt at MCS has completely revolutionized my acting and has catapulted me into a new level of confidence and strength enabling more of
‘me’ to be seen. Matt also won’t let you ‘get away with’ anything that doesn’t serve you or your art. He keeps you fastidiously accountable to truth because he wholeheartedly has your best interest at heart and thereby reaps amazing results.”

“Matt’s class has not just transformed my acting, but also my life. I more confident in my own skin and I have learned to trust myself more. It’s not always easy, confronting my truth, but I much prefer this full life than to the one I was hiding behind before.”
- Alix Liiv
“Matthew’s intuition about what each person needs is astounding. He always brings 110% to every class, often fighting harder for freedom of expression than the student. The most remarkable words I ever heard him say: “I am going to LOVE this work into you!” Working as Matt’s Executive Assistant for 2 years has just been a bonus!”
- Linda Eicher
“Matthew Corozine is an extremely intuitive and challenging coach. He has restored my faith in the necessity for the arts in our society, and my faith in myself as an artist. His classes are an opportunity to work with talented, dedicated artists in an environment that promotes learning and personal growth. Matthew Corozine is the Real Thing!”
-Nina Salza Burns
“Matt’s devotion and dedication to his students was something that allowed me a safe haven to really dig deep and get to the truth of who I was as an actor. He taught me that you must do what is true to you and not what you think is the correct way. His passion in each and every note he gave has stuck with me through all these years. He is the kind of coach that you hear in your head when you are prepping for an audition or you are on set and having that one struggling moment.”
