Who we are, why we are here is to elevate the artistic well being of humanity in the pursuit of uncovering the truth and the talent of the artist in the belief that the arts are healing and what we do as a studio theatre is vital for society to receive.
MCS Theatre is a place to study and build a craft; whether you have the impulse to act, direct, teach, or write. MCS Theatre is not “just an acting class” it is a workplace, an artistic experience that offers performance opportunities. Being part of MCS Theatre is being part of a company.
Classes consist of exercises and scene work that teaches actors to trust their unique instincts and impulses fully, and to respond truthfully from their humanity. Actors will build a solid foundation in “the reality of doing” and finding the truth within themselves. Through total commitment to this work, actors will meet the demands of any role.

IMPROVISATION at MCS
Improv at MCS is fast and furious. Lead by one of New York’s top improv directors, Samantha Jones incorporates her own brand of improv instruction into the Meisner work taught in our studio. By incorporating short form improv games, character development, intense theatrical warm ups, speech, sense memory and trust exercises, participants smash walls at break-neck speed in a playground designed specifically for MCS.
