“Being a part of MCS has altered and affected me both as an actor and how I choose to live my life. Matt teaches how to get back in touch with your instincts and imagination and live them fully. He gives you clear tools and a way to really live in the moment, both on stage and in your life, if you choose to use it there. Through really listening to your partner, and inevitably yourself, he guides you on how to build confident in staying right where you are, truthfully, without running or ignoring or denying, but living through the truth of what is going on in you, and how to own up to who you are, mess and all. He has taught me how, once I am able to recognize what I have been missing by not listening, how to start listening to myself and finding where instincts truly live within me, as well as my acting partners. He has taught me how to replace all the harmful habits I’ve developed along the way as an artist with my truths, and then how to live those truths out loud, fully under imaginary circumstances. So I am now able to know how to access specific sets of instincts, which have always been in me, and a specific, clear ways to stay grounded in the moment, thought the very difficult task of truly listening, for whatever character I am asked to play. The power of his passion for the arts, and therefore for humanity, comes through within the first 5 minutes of entering his class and stays with you on your train ride home, and years after that. The inspiration that he brings out of me is the exact inspiration that I use to drive my acting, my career and my life. Truly, having been with Matthew Corozine has had the largest impact on my life to date. Being a student of Matt’s is a true gift.”
